EFFINGHAM, IL-(EFFINGHAM RADIO)- The Effingham Unit #40 Board of Education made personnel moves at their meeting on Monday.
During the meeting, the Board hired eleven individuals, conducted four transfers, accepted seven resignations, approved three retirements, and approved two leaves of absence.
The Board hired Obie Farmer as a behind-the-wheel driver education instructor, Jamie Irwin as 2 hour bus driver, Lisa Beck and Alexandra Niebrugge as special education teachers at EJHS, and Kody Line as summer maintenance.
Additionally, the Board hired six individuals for extended school year positions.
They are Jessica Barthelme as a special education teacher, Jennifer Castillo as a speech pathologist, Angie Probst, Diana Brown, and Josaphine Westendorf as paraprofessionals, and Shari Long as a nurse paraprofessional.
The Board then approved the transfer of Michelle Hinterscher as a Math teacher at EHS, Elizabeth Budde as a 7 hour cook at Central, Gwen Kuhns as a 5.5 hour cook at Central, and Paula Bullard as a 5.5 hour cook at EHS.
The Board then accepted seven resignations.
These resignations are from Michelle Michael as a teacher, Megan Logue as a teacher, Whitney Duncan as a paraprofessional and Fresh/Soph Girls Basketball Coach, Rebecca Meyers as a Jr Prom and HS Pom-Pom Sponsor, Courtney Leach as a teacher, Stacey Macklin as a social worker, and Lee Althoff as a teacher and HS Boys Tennis and Soccer Coach.
They also accepted two leaves of absences from Diane Tieffel and Kathryn Roepke.
The Board then accepted three retirements from Janice Thomas as a teacher at the end of the 2017-2018 year, Marilyn Sudkamp as head custodian at EJHS, and Vivian Cain as a cafeteria monitor.
