EFFINGHAM,IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Police Department will hold a cookout on Friday evening to raise funds for safety equipment for the Police Department.
We recently spoke with Effingham Police Chief, Jeff Fuesting, regarding the fundraiser.
According to Chief Fuesting, the cookout will be held at the corner of Front Street and Jefferson Street.
The Police Department will be cooking hamburgers and brats and will have chips and soft drinks.
Chief Fuesting also stated that the Department will have curly fries and will allow children to make their own curly fries.
This cookout is a free-will donation and proceeds will be used to purchase ballistic helmets for the officers to wear while out in the field.
