NEWTON, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Newton City Council is set to meet on Tuesday, May 15th.
According to an agenda from the Newton City Council, the Council will hear public comments from Mandy Reiman, RN of the Jasper County Health Department and Doug Long regarding the new notification system, Code Red.
According to an agenda from the Newton City Council, the Council will discuss and possibly act on two items of old business and two items of new business.
The Council will consider and act on a TIF agreement with Newton Medical Complex LLC, consider authorizing Connor & Connor to proceed with Dhom extension and three additional bores, consider having two police officers attend the IJOA and IDOA training on June 13-15, and consider authorizing Kathy Hayes and Brenda Phillips to sign checks in the absence of City Clerk Rosetta York.
Additionally, the Council will hear a committee report from the Finance and Water Committees, as well as statements from council members, the City Attorney, the City Treasurer, City Clerk, and the Mayor.
