EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two people were injured in an accident that occurred on I-70 on Monday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound at milepost 90, three miles west of Effingham at 1:40pm.
The report states that a semi driven by 44 year old, Ronald G Fisher Jr, of St Genevieve, Missouri was traveling eastbound on I-70 in the right lane with he drove past a maintenance truck with an arrow board that pointed for traffic to merge into the left lane.
Fisher then continued eastbound on I-70 and struck a second maintenance truck with an arrow board pointing for traffic to enter the left lane.
This second maintenance truck was being driven by 25 year old, Benjamin E Streeval, of Sherman.
Both men were taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Fisher was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and Scotts Law violation.
