EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Our listening area could see severe weather tonight and possibly tomorrow.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, Central Illinois will see some scattered showers and thunderstorms today and it appears that a more organized threat for severe weather will move in from the West late tonight and early in the morning on Thursday.
It appears that the storms will begin to the west and southwest of Central Illinois, before racing in before midnight and tracking along to the east.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln stated that the main threat for this evening will be wind gusts of up to 65 mph and large hail.
Additionally, the National Weather Service is calling for several rounds of thunderstorms during the day tomorrow.
They are currently predicting the main threat to be damaging wind gusts and large hail, with the higher threat being over extreme western Central Illinois, Iowa, and Northern Missouri.
