SPRINGFIELD, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Some home healthcare workers in Illinois could be in line for a big raise.
The Illinois Senate yesterday voted to nearly double the pay for workers who help in the state’s Community Care Program.
The plan would increase the hourly rate for workers from ten-dollars and 98-cents an hour to 19-dollars and 98-cents an hour on July 1st.
They would then see yearly one-dollar raises until their pay topped out just under 25-dollars an hour in 2021.
Republicans say Illinois can’t afford the massive pay hikes.
