NEWTON, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Newton City Council is set to meet on Tuesday, April 17th.
According to an agenda from the Newton City Council, the Council will discuss and possibly act on five items of old business and four items of new business.
The Council will consider and act on the 2018-2019 balance budget, bids received for the 602 Stevens Street property, bids for sidewalk, curb, driveway, and gutter on South Van Buren, 2018 bids for the annual MFT Street Maintenance Program, and the River Walk 5K Fun Run Walk in old business.
They will then discuss and possibly act on a department head wage increase, a part-time wage increase, an ordinance amending the zoning map, and an ordinance vacating an alley in new business.
Additionally, the Council will hear a committee report from the Negotiation, Water, EMA, and Finance Committees, as well as statements from council members, the City Attorney, the City Treasurer, City Clerk, and the Mayor.
The Newton City Council meets in the Newton City Hall at 108 N Van Buren in Newton.
