Effingham, Ill. – This past week the Clay County Sheriff’s Department Arrested Adam J. Pipkins, 35, for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer, Resisting a Peace Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, two Effingham County Warrants for Forgery (Bond $10,000 10%) and Unlawful Possession of a Converted Motor Vehicle (Bond $40,000 10%).
According to the press released received from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, On March 23, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a Clay County Sheriff’s deputy observed an ATV travelling northbound on Rt 45 just south of Louisville.
When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the ATV the driver ignored the deputy’s lights and siren and continued northbound.
The pursuit was later terminated after it entered the Village of Louisville.
Upon further investigation, the deputy located the ATV behind a residence east of Louisville with suspected driver unconscious, still on the ATV.
The driver attempted to resist the deputy as he was taken into custody, but was unsuccessful.
After the arrest, Pipkins was taken to Clay County Jail.
