Effingham, Ill. (Peoria, IL) – Investigators in Peoria say they don’t suspect foul play in the death of a local man recently released from prison.
Cleve Heidelberg spent 47 years in prison for a 1970 murder that he didn’t commit.
Peoria police say they found Heidelberg’s body Saturday in his apartment on the city’s north side.
Peoria County’s coroner is not saying how Heidelberg died, but said they don’t suspect foul play.
