Effingham, Ill. (Springfield, Ill.) – Voters must not be that upset about last summer’s 32 percent income tax increase.
Only one of the so-called ‘Madigan Republicans,’ the Republican state reps who voted for the tax increase, lost their seat in yesterday’s primary.
State Rep David Reis lost handily to challenger Darren Bailey. C.D. Davidsmeyer from Jacksonville and Norine Hammond from western Illinois both voted for the tax increase, and both survived their races.
