The Dieterich Board of Education made personnel moves at their meeting on Monday.
During the meeting, the Board approved the minutes, expenditures, and treasurer’s report. They also approved the Guaranteed Trust Life Insurance voluntary student accident insurance for students and renewed the catastrophic insurance policy required by the IHSA. The Board then added JH Softball as an IESA sport for the 2018-2019 school year.
Additionally, the Board made personnel moves including contracts, hiring, accepting resignations, and reassignments. The Board approved a 3-year contract for Superintendent Cary Jackson, hired Molly Niemerg and Whitley Schwengel as After School Aides, and reassigned Guidance Counselor, Ashley Kreke, from 3/4 time to full-time for the 2018-2019 school year. The Board also accepted resignations from Whitney Lidy as a library aide, Donetta Ohnesorge as head high school girls basketball coach, Mary Lucy as assistant high school girls basketball coach, and Ashley Rentfro as junior high volleyball coach.
Additional items discussed and acted on by the Board include:
- approved easement for Village of Dieterich to run utilities across district property for the new addition to the Hartke Subdivision.
- accepted bid from Alpha Controls for repairs to the boiler pumps in the estimated amount of $4,795.
- scheduled special board meeting on June 4th for district goal setting and planning.
