Effingham, Ill. – On March 6th, Illinois State Police Arrested Matthew Taffer, 27, of Leesburg Virginia for Calculated Cannabis Conspiracy, Delivery (Over 500 Grams), and possession.
On March 7th, he was arraigned and appeared in court.
According to Effingham County State Attorney Bryan Kibler, Taffer was originally stopped by an ISP officer for improper lane usage, and at that point the officer deployed a drug dog.
Once the dog was deployed, the officer was alerted, and over 72 pounds of cannabis had been allegedly found.
At that point in time Taffer was arrested, and had a bond set for 30,000.
Taffer now faces 12-60 years for cannabis trafficking, and his pre-trial hearing has been set for March 22, at 9 a.m.
