(Chicago, IL) — Former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says it’s time that the Democratic Party in the state gets new leaders. Quinn told “The Chicago Sun Times” over the weekend that he thinks House Speaker Mike Madigan should step down as the chairman of the state Democratic Party. Quinn also said that Senate President John Cullerton shouldn’t play a role in the state party. Both Cullerton and Madigan have spent decades as leaders in both the state legislature and statewide Democratic party. Quinn said they should pick one.
