An Effingham woman was injured in an accident that occurred in Effingham on Sunday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on the I-57/I-70 South Tri-Level at 3:44pm. The report states that a vehicle driven by 27 year old, Brett Deters, of Montrose was traveling northbound on I-57 at the I-70 split when the vehicle lost control on the snowy pavement. Deters left the roadway to the right, struck the ditch, and overturned. One of Deters’ passengers, 26 year old, Molly Webb, of Effingham was injured and taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
Both Deters and Webb received citations. Deters was cited for improper lane usage and Webb was cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
