A Casey woman was injured in a Clark County accident Friday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 3:38pm on US 40 at CR 300E. The report stated that a vehicle driven by a 16 year old juvenile of Casey was traveling northbound on CR 300E approaching the intersection with US 40. At the same time, 39 year old, Kristi East, of Casey was traveling westbound on Route 40 approaching the same intersection. The report states that the juvenile failed to stop and yield to East, striking the front, driver-side of East’s vehicle. The juveniles vehicle then went into the north ditch, coming to a rest. East’s vehicle was pushed into the ditch and continued 220 feet before coming to a rest. East was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment and the juvenile refused treatment at the scene.
The juvenile was cited for disregarding the stop sign.
