(Chicago, IL) — Illinois’ tough gun laws are being rolled back once again. The Illinois Supreme Court yesterday struck down the state’s ban on carrying a gun within one-thousand feet of a park. The unanimous ruling says the law is too broad and doesn’t allow a legal gun owner to walk or, in some cases, live near a park. The Illinois State Rifle Association says the law essentially made carrying a gun illegal in many communities across the state because you’re often never more than a thousand feet from a park or other restricted area.
