Effingham, Il – First Responders were called to US 50 by Mayflower Rd in Clay County about 1.5 miles east of Clay City last night at approximately 7:18 p.m. for a 2 vehicle accident.
Upon arrival they found a vehicle in a ditch driven by 26 Year old Natasha Prather of Clay City with an unidentified minor passenger.
They also found a vehicle driven by Prentice S Gibson 35, of Evansville, IN on the shoulder.
According to the accident report, Prather was driving eastbound on the highway when she crossed the center line.
She attempted to over correct herself back to the right side, but rear ended Gibson who was pulled over on the shoulder.
Upon impact gibson was pushed further into the shoulder before the vehicle he was driving came to a screeching halt.
Prather however, had continued for about 220 feet running off the roadway before crashing into a ditch.
First responders confirmed that Prather along with her passenger both sustained injuries, and were transported to Clay County Hospital.
Gibson sustained injuries as well was air lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
After the accident Prather was charged with improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle.
