Effingham, Il – First Responders were called to I-70 early Saturday Morning around 1 a.m.
At the time of their arrival, they found a vehicle being driven by Joann A. Keisey, 26, of Nixa, MO with passengers Julie Porter, 57, Herman Robert Leisey, 24, and 2 unidentified children ages 3, and 5.
According to the preliminary investigation completed by the Illinois State Police District 12 (ISP), Keisey was
driving Eastbound in the right lane on I-70 by mile marker 121.
The release stated, “Keisey began to change lanes into the left lane to pass another vehicle moving slowly in traffic when it spun out of control.”
“She ran off of the roadway to the right, struck the ditch/embankment, and overturned.”
The vehicle finally stopped in the South ditch facing Westbound on Kaisey’s side.
All occupants were transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN for minor cuts and soreness.
According to ISP, ” Weather conditions at the time of the crash were freezing mist (ice on roadway).”
There were no charges filed at the time of the accident.
