(Springfield, IL) — First responders in Illinois are joining a new, national data network that they hope will make their jobs easier. Governor Rauner’s office yesterday said that the state is one of many that are opting into the new First Responder Network. The plan is to use high speed wifi and other new technology to connect police, fire, and ambulance crews. The new network is a public private partnership between FirstNet and AT&T.
