Effingham, Il (Via Springfield)- Senate Minority Leader Dick Durbin says there’s nothing political about Democrats urging Senator Al Franken to resign in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations.
The Illinois Democrat tells CBS’s “Face the Nation,”
“There was no political calculation in here.”
“It was just a painful moment when we made a decision.”
Franken resigned from the Senate last Thursday.
It followed calls from roughly two-dozen Democrats to do so.
The Minnesota Democrat also faces allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women.
