Three people were injured in an accident that occurred on Wednesday in Marion County.
According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on Route 37 and Route 161 on Wednesday at 12:49pm. The release stated that a vehicle driven by 80 year old, Ramona M Oberlohr, of Louisville was traveling southbound on Route 37, approaching the intersection with Route 161. At the same time, a vehicle driven by 32 year old, Nancy M Kollak, of Fairfield was traveling westbound on Route 161, approaching the intersection. Kollak stopped at the intersection and began to proceed through, when Oberlohr disobeyed a stop sign and t-boned her vehicle in the passenger side. Both units then spun and Kollak’s vehicle left the roadway, striking a utility pole. The pole then snapped and dropped the center overhanging flashing red light to the roadway.
Oberlohr was taken to Salem Township Hospital, while Kollak and a passenger in her vehicle, 41 year old, Jason S Carter, of Kell were taken to St Mary’s Centralia Hospital. Carter was then later air lifted to St Louis University Hospital. Oberlohr was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
