Effingham, Il – Early Sunday morning at 2:22 am first responders received a call to County Road 1400N about 2 miles west of Hunt City in Jasper County.
Upon arrival they found a single vehicle upside down with driver Keri Wittgan, 36, of Willow Hill, Passengers Brieanna Jones, 20, of Olney and Eugene Birch, 30 of Newton.
In a released crashed report by the Illinois State Police (District 12), they found Wittgan was driving east on the roadway before running off the left side.
Wittigan did attempt to overcorrect himself, but the preliminary investigation found he ran off the roadway a second time.
Immediately after running off, the vehicle overturned several times before coming to a stop upside down.
Wittgan, and Jones were taken to Carle Hospital while Birch was taken to Crawford Memorial Hospital.
At the time of the accident Birch was charged with failure to wear a seat belt while Wittgan was charged with DUI, Failure to wear seat belt, No valid insurance, and driving on wrong side of roadway.

The ISP released a correction to this incident the driver of the vehicle at the time of this incident is Keri Wittgan.
She was also the one transported to Carle Hospital.
