Two juveniles were injured in an accident that occurred over the weekend.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, on Saturday at approximately 9:41pm, a vehicle being driven by a 16 year old juvenile from Teutopolis was traveling eastbound on CR 350N, 4 miles north of Montrose. The vehicle was approaching the stop sign at the intersection with CR 500E when it failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle then went through the intersection and traveled through the ditch on the east side of the road. It traveled for approximately 250 feet before it entered a creek embankment and entered the creek, coming to a rest. The driver and one of the juvenile passengers were taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. Two other juveniles refused treatment at the scene of the accident.
The juvenile driver was charged with disobeying a traffic control device and violating the graduated driver’s license one passenger limit.
