Cumberland had one goal going into Friday’s game with Tri-County, win. Cumberland did that in a big way with a 63-12 win against Tri-County to clinch a playoff spot. Cumberland scored first with 55 seconds left in the first quarter as Gabe Hatfill connected with Tyson Magee for a 68 yard touchdown. Cumberland added another score in the second as Connor Butler returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown. Cumberland would added another score on a 7 yard touchdown run by Myles Gerhardt with 51 seconds left in the half to make it 20-0 at the half. Cumberland would score 4 times in the third quarter including 3 touchdowns by Colton Scott. Cumberland is now 6-1 on the season and will face 5-2 Villa Grove next week in a battle for the conference championship.
