Four people were injured in an accident that occurred on the Sainte Marie Blacktop at 1:10am on Sunday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, 43 year old, Gary T. Buerster, of Noble was traveling southbound in a Jeep on the Sainte Marie Blacktop near 500th Avenue when he failed to negotiate the curve and ran the vehicle off the roadway to the east. The Jeep struck a ditch, guide wire, and overturned against a power pole. It came to a rest in the ditch on its drivers side.
Buerster and his passengers, 39 year old, Julie A Giddens, of Flora, 50 year old, Ellen R Bollman, of Dundas, and 35 year old, Nicholas A. Beverlin, of Willow Hill were ejected from the Jeep during the crash. They were taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment. Buerster was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, failure to wear a seat belt, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and illegal transportation of alcohol. The three passengers were all charged with failure to wear seat belt and illegal transportation of alcohol.
All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
