The Illinois State Police District 12 recently released the results from Alcohol Countermeasure Patrols. The patrols were held in Clay and Marion Counties. District 12 police officers issued 36 written warnings and made 15 arrests/citations during the patrols. The following is the total law enforcement activity that was taken per violation during the Alcohol Countermeasure Patrols.

- Other Alcohol/Drug Citations- 1
- Occupant Restraint Offenses- 1
- Registration Offenses- 5
- Driver’s License Offenses- 2
- Insurance Violations- 1
The Alcohol Countermeasure Patrols were held to keep roads safe by removing driver’s that were under the influence of drugs/alcohol from the roads. Driving while impaired from alcohol/drugs is a major factor in more than 30% of the fatal accidents in Illinois. Every 53 minutes, a person loses their lives in an alcohol related traffic accident. The Illinois State Police District 12 is reminding drivers to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”.
