The Teutopolis Unit #50 School Board met on Monday, May 15th.
At their meeting, the Board accepted resignations from employees. Resignations were accepted from Marita Weber as Teutopolis Junior High Secretary, Tom Bauserman as Teutopolis High School Scholar Bowl Coach, Beth Einhorn as Elementary Teacher, Brian Haskenherm as Teutopolis High School JV Soccer Coach, Angie Kroeger as Bus Driver, and Rich Niebrugge as Junior High Boys Basketball Assistant Coach. Additionally, the Board approved the hiring of personnel to fill some open positions. They hired Cindy Konkel as Teutopolis Junior High Secretary, Kyla Hall as Teutopolis High School Counselor/Teacher pending completion of proper certifications, Maggie Bosgraaf as Teutopolis Junior High School Cheer Sponsor, and Maria Tegeler as 7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach.
Additionally, the Board heard a presentation from Luke Easton from the South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission regarding a proposed TIF district in the Village. Easton has been assisting the Village Board of Trustees with setting up the TIF district. The district is being set up for a number of reasons including paying for infrastructure improvements in the residential development, improvements on Route 40, and sewage treatment improvements.
Other items covered by the Board:
- approved purchase of new timeclock system
- approved Glass and Shuffett Ltd to do the summer audit.
- discussed the Teutopolis High School facility and the next steps to be taken. Representatives from Upchurch Architects were available to answer questions as the Board discussed renovation or construction.
