(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Auditor General is facing a five-thousand-dollar fine by the state Board of Elections. The board voted yesterday to penalize Frank Mautino for failing to provide information during a probe into the spending of his former legislative campaign committee. The investigation was launched last year after over 200-thousand-dollars in campaign funds were spent on fuel and car repairs over 16 years.
