The Teutopolis Board of Trustees received an update on the progress of a TIF application at their meeting on Wednesday, February 15th.
Luke Easton and James Patrick, of South Central Illinois Regional Planning & Development Commission (SCIRPDC), met with the Board regarding the TIF application. From preliminary studies done by SCIRPDC, the proposed area included in the application includes 148 parcels. Of these, 88 of the structures are over 35 years old, meaning that the area should easily qualify. As SCIRPDC would like to have a final layout of the area that the Board would like to include in the application within the next 2-3 weeks, the Board decided to hold a committee meeting to discuss the possible area.
Additionally, the Board approved four items of business. Two of these items were old business that the Board had tabled pending further discussion. This includes the acceptance of Payment Service Network for online payment of utility customer’s bills and the purchase of Radar Speed Signs for use in front of the Grade School. Two signs were approved in the amount of $5,340. The Board also approved Ordinances No. 872 and 873. Ordinance No. 872 is for the reimbursement of a set amount of employees’ expenses for travel, meals, and lodging. Ordinance No. 873 amends the title of Ordinance No. 870 relating to private sewage disposal and the construction of sewers.
The Teutopolis Board of Trustees meet in the Village Hall located at 106 W Main St. in Teutopolis.
