Governor Bruce Rauner has appointed a Mt. Vernon man to the Illinois State Board of Education. Kevin Settle has spent 34 years as an education professional. He has experience as a superintendent, assistant regional superintendent, and a teacher.
Settle has a Ph.D. and Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. He has served as the Superintendent of Mt Vernon Schools, the Assistant Regional Superintendent of the Hamilton-Jefferson Counties Regional Office of Education, and a teacher and Principal at Webber Township High School.
Governor Rauner also appointed Darlene Ruscitti, of Bloomingdale to the Illinois Board of Higher Education. Ruscitti is the current Regional Superintendent at the DuPage Regional Office of Education and a member of the P-20 Council. She was previously a member of the Governor’s Local Government Consolidation and Unfunded Mandates Task Force. Ruscitti has also done volunteer work with the United Way, DuPage Federation on Human Services Reform, and Generations Serving Generations.
