Today’s #FlashbackFriday song highlights a day that has been dubbed as “The Day The Music Died”.
On this date in 1959, artists Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens lost their lives in a plane crash. The artists were flying from Clear Lake, Iowa to a show in Moorhead, Minnesota when the plane crashed shortly after take-off. Country artist Waylon Jennings, who was a member of Buddy Holly’s band at the time, gave up his seat on the airplane to The Big Bopper.
