Effingham High School will be one of twenty-two schools participating in the EIU Scholar Bowl on Saturday. The Scholastic Tournament is hosted by the Sandra and Jack Pine Honors College and is in its 32nd year. Competition begins at 8:30 a.m.
Nearly 200 students will participate in the round-robin tournament representing twenty-two schools. Each team is guaranteed at least three rounds with championship rounds scheduled for 1:00 in the afternoon. An award ceremony will commence at 4:30 p.m.
Other schools participating Saturday include Arthur, Casey-Westfield, Central, Charleston, Cumberland, Edwards County, Fairfield, Marshall, Mattoon, Neoga, Newton, Oakland (Tri-county), Oblong, Paris Cooperative, Robinson, Salem, South Central, Springfield, St. Anthony, Sullivan and Windsor.
