Two were injured Wednesday night in Jasper County when a vehicle went airborne and left the roadway on 400th Avenue, near County 1975th Street.
34-year-old Wayne E. Belford, of Oblong, was traveling eastbound on 400th Avenue when he drove up a levy causing the vehicle to go airborne. Belford lost control and the vehicle entered a skid, exited on the south side of the roadway, stuck a ditch, hit several small trees and shrubs, and then rolled several times into a field. 31-year-old Nicole J. Belford of Oblong, a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle while it was rolling.
Nicole Belford was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN and 38-year-old Lisa Ann Allen of Oblong, another passenger, was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Champaign for treatment. Wayne Belford is charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Improper Lane Usage, Aggravated Reckless Driving, and Driving Under the Influnece of Alcohol.
