An Indiana man is responsible for two area bank robberies and others in Indiana. Samuel T. Gregg, 48, of Indianapolis was apprehended in October in connection with a bank robbery in Jeffersonville Indiana. He later confessed to robbing banks in both Charleston and Farina.
The Charleston robbery occurred on the afternoon of August 31, 2016 when Gregg entered Prairie State Bank, on 18th Street, and demanded money. He fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount. Fayette County State’s Attorney Josh Morrison confirmed Wednesday that Gregg also has been indicted for robbing Midland States Bank in Farina, on W. Madison, October 7, 2016. Similarly to the Charleston incident, Gregg entered the bank, demanded money, and then fled on foot.
Authorities have said that Gregg has been involved in bank robberies dating back to July of 2015. He was indicted last week by a judge in Fairview Heights, IL for the Farina robbery and has been indicted for at least one more in Indiana.
