The Teutopolis Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, January 18th.
During the meeting, the Board heard a presentation from Tom Bauserman and Al Church. Bauserman and Church are starting a Nano-Brewery in an outbuilding located on Bauserman’s property. With the intentions of brewing and distributing from the outbuilding, the men addressed the Board to find out if they had the correct zoning for the property, licensing for the brewing and distributing, and permits for any construction that might be needed. Bauserman and Church plan on brewing up to five 51 gallon barrels of alcohol at a time, and distributing this to local bars and liquor stores.
In addition, the Board discussed possibly accepting Payment Service Network for residents to use to pay utilities online. Trustees questioned the cost-effectiveness of the program and the volume of residents that would use the program. The Board also discussed transferring money from the general Money Market fund to the building fund Money Market. However, this item was tabled for further discussion at a later time.
