The Illinois State Police arrested a Chicago man on Thursday for the threatening of Public Officials.
24 year old, Eric M. Pence, of Chicago was arrested by the Illinois State Police Zone 1 Investigations. Pence allegedly sent a threatening letter to Governor Rauner and threatening emails to the DuPage County Sheriff. Pence is being charged with a Class 3 Felony for Threatening of a Public Official for threatening the Governor and a Class A Misdemeanor for Harassment Using an Electronic Communication Device for threatening the DuPage County Sheriff. Pence is being held at the DuPage County Jail with a $250,000 bond.
The Illinois State Police is still investigating the matter.
