Illinois State Police District 12 has released enforcement figure for their recent Special Traffic Enforcement Patrols (sTEP) that were conducted on Saturday, November 19th in Clark and Cumberland Counties.

Illinois State Police remind motorists that driving the speed limit does save lives, and saves on gas. The sTEP program focuses on the fatal four traffic violations of speeding, DUI, failure to where seat belt, and distracted driving. Additionally, seat belts have been estimated to save over 12,000 lives each year.
