Cumberland was able to hold on for a one point win against Casey-Westfield 38-37. Cumberland led 10-8 after the first quarter thanks to 4 points by Tyson Magee. Cumberland went into the half with a 22-21 lead. Cumberland never trailed in the entire first half. Cumberland came out strong in the third half and maintained a 32-29 lead after three quarters. Cumberland had 12 turnovers in the game and it allowed Casey to get back into the game. Casey took the 37-36 lead with 2 minutes left to go in the game. Cumberland would come back to tie the game on a Zack Wolke free throw with a little over 1 minute left in the game. Cumberland would steal the ball and Mike Wolke would get fouled with just 5.8 seconds left in the game. Mike Wolke would sink the first free throw. Mike would miss the second free throw but Cumberland would steal the ball as time expired. Cumberland was in scoring by Tyson Magee who had 17 points and Mike Wolke who had 9 points. Others scoring for Cumberland were Cole Willenborg who had 5 points and Zach Wolke who had 7 points. Casey was led by Richards who had 11 points. Others scoring for Casey were Gilbert with 9 points, Brandenburg with 5 points, Carver with 9 points, and Hawker with 3 points. Cumberland will next face Neoga tonight at 7:30 PM.
