Hannah Pike, of Effingham High School, has been recognized as November’s Hall of FAME (Fantastic Area Mathematicians & Scientists Extraordinaire) award recipient.
The Award is presented by area business leaders and recognizes excellence in math and science. School staff select students for the award based on academic achievement. The sponsors of the award seek to encourage local students to aim for excellence in their schooling. Hannah plans to attend Murray State or SIU once she graduates to major in animal science.
Presenting the award is Joan Thies of Stevens Industries and Pat Gebben of Merz Heating & Cooling. Other sponsors include Auto Glass Unlimited, Effingham Ophthalmology/Visionary Eye Wear & H & M Concrete, Joe’s Pizza, Coldwell Banker Realtors and Milano & Grunloh Engineers.
