A Springfield woman was after a crash on I-70 at approximately 12:03 Thursday morning.
Illinois State Police report that 60-year-old Karen Funk, of Springfield, was traveling eastbound on I-70, near milepost 128 in the Casey area, when she stopped in the middle of the right lane and turned her headlights off. Another driver, 40-year-old Alexander Lebedevin of Asheville, North Carolina, was unable to see Funk in the right lane until it was too late to avoid a collision. Lebedevin attempted to swerved left, but sideswiped Funk’s vehicle. He was uninjured.
Funk sustained injuries and was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham and was later transferred to a hospital in Springfield. She is charged with DUI/drugs and Improper Parking on a Roadway.
