JR HIGH BASKETBALL
CHBC VS. ST. ANTHONY
In 8th grade girls basketball it was St. Anthony getting the win 16-7 against CHBC. St. Anthony was led by Kabbes who scored 6 points. CHBC was led by Bunch, Burks, and Vaughn who all scored 2 points. The loss drops CHBC to 12-8 on the season. In 7th grade action it was St. Anthony defeating CHBC 33-23. St. Anthony was led by Guy who scored 10 points. CHBC was led by Heckert who scored 13 points. The loss drops CHBC to 9-11 on the season. CHBC will host Windsor/Stew-Stras on Thursday.
NEWTON VS. SIGEL ST. MICHAEL
In 8th grade girls basketball it was Sigel St. Michael getting the win against Newton 49-19. Sigel was led by Bueker who had 20 points. Newton was led by Zumbahlem who had 9 points. In 7th grade action it was Sigel getting the win 26-13. Sigel was led by Schumacher who had 10 points. Newton was led by Russell who had 7 points.
HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. PANA
Effingham girls were able to win their home opener against Pana 46-32. Effingham was led by Myers who scored 10 points. Also contributing were Armstrong and Fox who each scored 9 points. Pana was led by Thompson who scored 8 points. Effingham will next be involved in the Newton Tournament starting next Monday.
TEUTOPOLIS VS. NEWTON
Teutopolis started its season with a win against Newton 64-38. Teutopolis was led by J. Bueker who scored 17. Also scoring were Thompson with 14 and S. Bueker with 12 points. Newton was led by Hartrics who scored 14 and Richards who scored 13 points. Teutopolis will next travel to Salem on Friday as part of the Thanksgiving Tournament. Newton will look to rebound as they face Robinson on Thursday.
DIETERICH VS. ST. ANTHONY
St. Anthony girls basketball started the season with a big win against Dieterich 60-18. St. Anthony was led by Weis who scored 16 points. Weis also had 3 assists and 5 steals. St. Anthony also got scoring from Clausius who scored 14 points and had 6 steals and Schmidt who scored 10 points and had 8 rebounds. Dieterich was led by Britton who scored 10 points. St. Anthony will next head to the Taylorville Tournament on Friday were they will face Mt. Zion. Dieterich will look to rebound at home against Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School on Thursday.
ALTAMONT VS. VANDALIA
Altamont was able to get the win at Vandalia 59-57. Altamont was led by Paquette who scored 16 and Stone who scored 14 points. Vandalia was led by Marquardt who scored 14 points and Zimmerman who added 13 points. Altamont will head to Charleston on Thursday.
