(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner isn’t getting the meeting he wanted today with Illinois’ legislative leaders. A spokesperson for House Speaker Michael Madigan says he’s busy, according to the “Chicago Sun-Times”, and the paper reports Senate President John Cullerton wants the meeting re-scheduled. Rauner had previously told reporters on Friday that three of the four legislative leaders said they’d be happy to meet today. The state budget would have likely been the number-one topic, as Rauner said last week he wants lawmakers to focus on that when they return to session tomorrow.
