(Springfield, IL) — Illinois election officials are assuring voters that random poll watchers will not be allowed into polling places tomorrow to check for possible vote fraud. The Trump campaign has been encouraging supporters to make sure the election isn’t rigged by turning up at the polls, but State Board of Elections spokesman Jim Tenuto says poll watchers need credentials given to them by the state or local election authorities. He says those people are able to watch the set up for election day, observe the voting and raise a red flag if they suspect fraud, but Tenuto says widespread fraud is nearly impossible to pull off.
