October 31, 2016:
- At 6:50 A.M. at the intersection of Banker and Kagay pedestrian Hubert S. McCarty, 88, Effingham, was struck by the mirror on a vehicle driven by Sarah L. Hurst, 38, Effingham. McCarty sustained injuries but refused treatment. No citations.
November 1, 2016:
- At 7:58 A.M. at the intersection of 3rd and Technology a vehicle driven by John R. C. Saunders, 18, Ramsey, struck a vehicle driven by Michael J. Koester, 23, Effingham. No injuries. Saunders was ticketed for Failure to Yield.

- Burglary from a motor vehicle occurred while parked in the 1300th block of S. Banker between 7:00 P.M. 10/31/16 and 5:00 P.M. 11/1/16. Stolen were a bag valued at $25.00, a PlayStation 4 valued at $500.00, a PlayStation 4 game valued at $20.00, a sweater valued at $25.00, and a headset valued at $95.00.
