(Chester, IL) — Police in Southern Illinois are still looking for driver of a car that was being chased by a Chester police officer who died Friday night when his squad car crashed. Twenty-two-year-old rookie officer James Brockmeyer’s car left the road and flipped over about two miles north of Chester as he was chasing 34-year-old Jason Stoker of Chester. Stoker was wanted on an outstanding warrant for aggravated fleeing and eluding police. Randolph County deputies discovered his car in Evansville, but he remains at large.
