The Teutopolis Board of Trustees voted to amend, and update, their village ordinances at Wednesday night’s meeting. Village President Greg Hess said that the change was to make the ordinances current with the times.
Once the updates are completed, an ordinance code-book will be available for public viewing in the village office and online.
The board also voted to approve a sewer line project extending down N. Green Street. The project will replace old piping on the main sewer line and update the system. Falwell Construction will be handling the the installation of the additional 240 feet of pipe for the price of $240,000.
The board also heard a presentation on their yearly audit from Mark Kentor, CPA. Overall the village received “clean opinion” on their fiances, meaning that everything was fairly accounted. The village has around 8.6 million in their two major fund categories. Kentor said his biggest concern with the board’s finances was whether the state would stay consistent with its funding for municipalities.
In other action, the board agreed to pour concrete in front of Wessel’s Grocery.
