The Effingham Child Development Center recently received a $5,000 grant from the Siemer Milling Endowment to support its “Lights on After School” and summer camp programs.
The “Lights on After School” Program provides area kids with nutritious meals/snack and homework assistance. The summer camp program includes swimming and various other outdoor activities.
The Effingham Child Development Center was established in 1972 as a not-for-profit day care center for kids from 6-weeks-old to 13-years-old. The center seeks to help families rise above challenges like low incomes, health impairments, and more.
The Siemer Milling Company Endowment was established in 2006 to support the development of young leaders. The endowment fund has awarded $93,800 to nonprofit groups in Effingham County.
