VOLLEYBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. SALEM
Effingham Varsity Volleyball defeated Salem in two games. Effingham defeated Salem 25-18 in game one. Effingham won game two 25-20. The win improves Effingham to 11-23 on the season and 4-6 in Apollo Conference play. Effingham JV Volleyball defeated Salem in two games. Effingham won game one 25-17. Effingham then won game two 25-6. The win improves Effingham to 12-5 on the season. Effingham Fresh/Soph Volleyball defeated Salem in three games. Effingham won game one 25-23. Salem came back and won game two 25-20. Effingham won the third game 15-5. Effingham Fresh/Soph finishes the season with an 11-6-1 record. Effingham’s Varsity and JV Volleyball team next play Dieterich on Thursday.
WINDSOR/STEW-STRAS VS. TUSCOLA
WSS Volleyball defeated Tuscola in two games. WSS won game one 25-13 and game two 25-18. WSS improves to 24-5 on the season. WSS JV team defeated Tuscola in three games. Tuscola defeated WSS in game one 26-24. WSS came back and won game two 25-23 and game three 25-20. The JV team improves to 11-7. Tuscola was able to defeat WSS in the Fresh/Soph game. Tuscola won game one 25-16 and game two 25-16. WSS falls to 5-8-3.
BASKETBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. CENTRALIA
In 8th grade girls basketball it was Centralia beating Effingham 44-29. Centralia was led by Edson who scored 21 and Smith who scored 19. Effingham was led by Diveley who scored 15 and Armstrong who scored 12 points. The loss drops Effingham to 3-4 on the season. In 7th grade girls action it was Effingham getting the win 39-16. Effingham was led by Sowell who scored 16. Centralia was led by Willrun who scored 9 points. The win improves Effingham to 5-2 on the season. Effingham will next face Charleston on Thursday.
ALTAMONT VS. SACRED HEART
Altamont was able to defeat Sacred Heart in 8th grade girls basketball 53-15. Altamont was led by Runge who scored 27 points. Sacred Heart was led by Rozene who scored 7 points. In 7th grade basketball it was Sacred Heart defeating Altamont 27-20. Sacred Heart was led by Karolawicz who scored 10 points. Altamont was led by McManaway who scored 8 points.
ST. ANTHONY VS. SIGEL ST. MICHAEL
St. Anthony 8th grade basketball fell to Sigel St. Michael 23-18. Sigel was led by Bueker who had 10 points and Niebugge who had 9 points. St. Anthony was led by Kabbes and Hartke who each had 5 points. In 7th grade basketball it was St. Anthony getting the win 29-11. St. Anthony was led by Clausins who scored 7 points. Sigel was led by Cremens who scored 4 points.
