With more than 15,000 concert-goers in town over the weekend for the Luke Bryan Farm Tour show, held just north of Mid America Motorworks, local law enforcement was working overtime to ensure that everyone was driving safe and behaving themselves. Effingham County Sheriff Dave Mahon praised law enforcement efforts during before, during, and after the concert.
According to him, nobody from the concert had to be taken to jail, but that doesn’t mean that the law enforcement presence wasn’t necessary. There were numerous fight complaints called in throughout the event, mostly for pushing and shoving.
Overall, Sheriff Mahon said the concert was a good training experience for all of the law enforcement and medical personnel involved. He said that the experience of everyone working together would valuable in the case of a county wide emergency in the future.
