BASKETBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. OKAW VALLEY
Effingham 8th grade girls’ basketball defeated Okaw Valley 39-11. Effingham was led by Diveley, who had 15, and Armstrong who had 13 points. Okaw Valley was led by Nave who had 3 points. With the win Effingham improves to 3-3 on the season. Effingham will next face Centralia on Tuesday. Effingham 7th grade girls’ basketball defeated Okaw Valley 35-2. Effingham was led by Duncan, who had 10, and Ohnesorge who had 9 points. Okaw Valley was led by Bruns who had 2 points. Effingham improves to 4-2 on the season.
ALTAMONT VS. SHELBYVILLE
Altamont 8th grade girls’ basketball won against Shelbyville 54-12. Altamont was led by Range who had 23 points. Shelbyville was led by Gardner who had 6 points. In 7th grade girls’ basketball Shelbyville got the win against Altamont 22-14. Altamont was led by Berg, Miller, and Walker who each had 4 points. Shelbyville was led by Stauder and Wade who had 6 points each. Altamont will next face Brownstown tonight.
CHBC VS. NORTH CLAY
Cowden-Herrick/ Beecher City were able to defeat North Clay in 8th grade basketball 32-22. CHBC were led by Cherry Madison who scored 14 points. North Clay was led by Lovett who scored 14 points as well. The win improves CHBC to 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. In 7th grade basketball it was CHBC getting the win 36-9. CHBC was led by Heckert Cracie who had 20 points. North Clay was led by VanDyke, Ethridge, Back, and Ballard who each had 2 points. The win improves CHBC to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. The next game for CHBC will by Monday against Mulberry Grove.
VOLLEYBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. TAYLORVILLE
Effingham Varsity Volleyball lost to Taylorville. The loss drops Effingham to 6-21 on the season and 3-6 in Apollo Conference play. Effingham lost game one 15-25. Effingham dropped game two 21-25. Effingham will next play Saturday at the Edwards County Tournament. The Effingham JV team defeated Taylorville in two games. Effingham won game one 25-13 and game two 25-17. The JV team is now 10-5 on the season. The JV Volleyball team will next play at Altamont on Monday. Effingham Fresh/Soph Volleyball tied with Taylorville. Effingham won game one 25-20. Taylorville won game two 25-20. Effingham is now 9-6-1 on the season. Effingham Fresh/Soph will next play Monday at Altamont.
